Dear Sir or Madam,

This afternoon, a sender named xcvxcv forwarded a total of four messages to
this mailing list.

This was an attempted attack by a source which had newly subscribed to this
list immediately before.

The attack was mitigated successfully.

As a consequence, DENIC has now adopted a policy of approval-first for new
subscribers to the so far open access list.

All necessary technical measures are now in place.
