Dear Sir or Madam,

Within the scope of upgrading zone updates under the Top-Level Domain .de,
DENIC will change the format of .de zone serial numbers soon.

The format change is scheduled for 21 November 2019, between 09:00 and 15:00
(CET).

From then on, the .de zone serial number will be output in the UNIX time
format, seamlessly replacing the previously used YYYYMMDDXX (with XX
designating a variable number) output format.

For you as a user of .de domains, the conversion will not bring about any
restrictions and normally no action will be required.

Only users who access the .de zone with automated programs will have to adapt
their scripts accordingly, in line with the above format change.
