This is true, of course, and we often find ourselves leading the
customer by the hand to follow the procedures invented by their
old provider. But ...

I thought that the right to KK a domain was outside any other ISP
Vertrag or procedure. If a DENIC member has a signed statement from
the domain owner/admin-c that they want to KK the domain to someone
else, that DENIC member is required to ACK the KK. ACKing the KK has
nothing to do with any other contractual agreements with the customer.

domain-at-isp != contract-validity

The problem is that some ISPs/etc invent their own procedure which
requires that the customer perform specific steps before they will
ACK a KK away. It seems to me that this is contrary to DENIC rules.

On the other hand, there are some legal grey areas regarding domain
names and what a provider can do in certain circumstances.
