Tut mir leid Freunde,

diese teils haarspalterische Diskussion, die innerhalb von nur 5 Tage bereits eine Flut von fast 200 Beiträgen ausgelöst hatte, hat die DENIC offensichtlich nicht von ihrer grundsätzlichen Haltung abbringen lassen, die ich wie folgt zusammenfassen möchte:

• alles ist bestens geregelt,
• besser kann man es vernünftigerweise nicht regeln,
• der Aufwand, der betrieben werden muß, wenn Vorschläge aus der Diskussion aufgegriffen würden, steht in keinem Verhätnis zum Nutzen und
• jeder gemachte Vorschlag ist eh nicht praktikabel
• im übrigen ist im Falle eines Problems der Endkunde selbst schuld, weil er sich den falschen Provider ausgesucht hat,
• DENIC wird in keinem Fall eine Schuld haben und
• für schlampiges Verhalten von Resellern und Providern ist DENIC nicht zuständig.
• natürlich ist es ärgerlich, wenn mal ein Problem auftaucht, doch das eine Problem ist dann gleich mit einem anderen Problem verbunden, und wer zuletzt lacht, lacht am besten
• natürlich ist der Endkunde DENIC gegenüber verpflichtet, umgekehrt gilt jedoch lediglich die Verpflichtung des Providers, Resellers und Resellers gegenüber dem Endkunden

Daß sinnvolle und konstruktive Vorschläge, die hier gemacht wurden, nicht schlichtweg Schwachsinn sind, mag das folgende Beispiel beweisen, das ich der Servicebeschreibung meines Providers entnehme:

Domain Protection

The protection of a domain name ("domain locking") provides an additional layer of security against unauthorized domain manipulation.
It also prevents from fraudulent transfers.

This procedure conforms to the ICANN regulations from November 12th, 2004.

Delete a domain

Please note:

• this procedure triggers a notification (email) of owner and admin contacts
• if at least the owner contact agrees, and nobody objects during a period of 5 calendar days, the domain is set 'on hold' for a period of 10 calender days
• if there is no objection during this period of 10 days, the domain will be deleted
• owner and admin contacts will get notice by email about the domain's status

Transfer your Domain

To be successful, the owner and/or admin contact has to agree. They will be asked by email. If both agree, the transfer will be processed immediately, otherwise we will accept incoming answers for a period of 5 days.

Please Note:

• please make sure, that there is no so-called 'registry lock' active for the domain to be transferred. Please verify, that the current registrar does not block the domain, resp. deactivates the blocking
• the domain to be transferred must have been active for at least 60 days at the current registrar, otherwise the transfer will fail
• the domain to be transferred must not be object of an active ICANN UDRP dispute procedure
• the domain should be valid for at least 7 days, to ensure that the transfer succeeds within the time limits (5 days)
• this procedure will trigger email notifications to the owner and the admin contact of the domain to be transferred
